SING-ALONG-A-SOUND
OF MUSIC
FRIDAY, 17
FEBRUARY 2006

On Friday, February 17th the
village
hall was alive to The Sound of
Music. Fifty people came to the sing-along evening, most dressed as
characters and songs from the film.
At the appropriate scenes
Captain Von Trapp (aka Alan Young) orchestrated performances from
countless nuns
a Maria
a Countess
an Uncle Max
climbers (climbing every
mountain)
snow-covered hills
a 17 going on 18
a drop of golden sun
a brown paper package tied up
with string
a girl in a white dress with
blue satin sashes
You get the picture. We all had
some edelweiss to hold for that song, some curtain fabric (don't
ask) and party poppers for The Kiss.
It was one of our more surreal
village hall events, which we all hope will start a trend.
